The short version: TILT doesn't collect your data. Everything you do in the app stays on your iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac, and in your own iCloud when they sync. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
What stays on your devices
TILT keeps these on your devices so the app can work:
- Your sessions. How long each FOCUS and BREAK ran, whether it finished, pauses, and the label you picked (like Study). This powers the calendar and Insights.
- Your settings. Palette and colors, timer font, soundscape, presets and labels.
- Photos you pick. If you choose photos as a timer background, TILT keeps copies in its own storage on your iPhone. It only sees the photos you pick, never the rest of your library, and never uploads them.
- Your Apple Watch. The TILT watch app keeps its own sessions and settings on your watch. It syncs them with your iPhone directly, over Apple's connection between the two and never through a server, so sessions timed on your wrist show up in Insights.
- Your Mac. TILT for Mac keeps its own sessions and settings on your Mac.
Like any app data, this can be part of your iPhone or iCloud backup, which Apple handles based on your settings.
Syncing between your devices
Your settings, like palette, font and lengths, sync between your iPhone and Mac through iCloud, in storage that belongs to your Apple Account.
With TILT Plus, the session that's running syncs too, so you can start on one device and pause or switch on another, and so do the sessions you finish, so Insights on each device counts the ones from your iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. They travel through your private iCloud database, which only you can read. When your iPhone and Mac share a Wi-Fi network, the running session also goes straight between them over an encrypted connection. Only your settings, the current session and your finished sessions (when each started, how long it ran and paused, how it ended, its label, and whether the App Blocker or start ritual was on) are synced, never your photos or music. We never see any of it, and none of it passes through our servers, because we don't have any. To stop it, turn off Live sessions with your iPhone in TILT's settings on your Mac.
Permissions
Purchases
TILT Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment. We never see your name, payment details or Apple ID. Apple sends us anonymized sales reports, like how many subscriptions there are in each country.
What Apple may share
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage stats. We can't identify you from them. Turn this off anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
If you email us
Send feedback to code@roydsantiago.com and we get your email address and message. We use them only to reply, never add you to a mailing list, and delete them if you ask.
Links out of the app
Rate, Share, Support, Terms and Manage Subscription open Apple's App Store, share sheet or web pages, covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Children
TILT is for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
Deleting your data
Delete TILT and everything it stored on that device goes with it: sessions, settings and photo copies. What TILT keeps in your iCloud for syncing is only your settings, the current session and, with TILT Plus, your finished sessions. Manage subscriptions in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on iPhone, or in the App Store under your account on a Mac.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Bigger changes also go in the release notes.
